When we develop a product, we follow a sequence of phases. This process includes bidding, design, prototyping, approval, manufacturing and support of the product.
As part of the bidding process, we may do a study. This will help our customer in defining specifications for those efforts where only a very general level of requirements or functionality is initially defined. A solid set of realistic requirements is a prerequisite for us to be able to write a proposal and start a development.
During the course of a development and in addition to a series of formal milestones from a Preliminary Design Review through to a Manufacturing Readiness Review, we set up regular conference calls allowing our customers to maintain visibility and control throughout the entire process. All projects are documented from the beginning and this documentation is controlled and updated regularly virtually eliminating any surprises.
The chart shown sets an exact expectation level for our customers. They know exactly what they are getting and when they are getting it. It also indicates regularly updated milestones which are tied to the customers’ evaluation of ongoing work and payment points.
